Hi – My name is Lenny and I love the Florida Beaches so much so, that I decided to write a fun travel blog about all the great and fun things to do in Florida!
Whether you are a local native who has lived in Florida for years, a tourist on vacation looking for something fun to do, or just a website visitor who happened to come across our content on the web or the Florida Beaches Facebook Page, our goal is to provide as much relevant information about Florida and all the great things about it!
Why Did I Start This Florida Beach Blog
I have always been fascinated with nature as a kid but most importantly the ocean. As a child, my parents would take my brother and I each Summer to various East coast ocean destinations ranging from Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach, Kennebunkport, St. Augustine, Key West and so on.
The ocean always terrified me as I never could understand as a kid what was living underneath the water. As a raw and majestic place, I would day dream of one day living near the beach!
As luck of fate happened, my father got transferred to a job in South Florida and we moved down here when I was 11.
Living in the Palm Beaches was great, as the beach was about 20 minutes away.
As I grew up in Palm Beach County, I’d often go to the beach and sometimes skip school on beautiful days to enjoy the water, sun, and of course the beach 🙂
As I graduated high school, I choose to attend the Florida State University and enrolled in their Entrepreneurial Studies and Small Business Managment School or ESBM.
Coming from an entrepreneurial background at FSU (Go Noles), I fell in love with online marketing and studied it voraciously when I was laid off from my government consulting job in 2008.
While living in California, I started to understand the true power of Facebook and you could say, I hustled Facebook by providing online marketing services to clients in the Sacramento, California area.
In 2010, I was lucky enough to get a mentor and an investment partner to help me fund my first marketing startup, which helped (you guessed it) local West Palm Beach businesses with their Social Media Marketing as well as providing Clematis Street with their content marketing for area nightclubs and restaurants.
On April 20th, 2010, while sitting in my Lake Worth, FL office (thanks Gene) I turned on CNN and became devastated to find out that an oil spill (thanks British Petroleum BP) was killing marine life, the ecological system in the Gulf of Mexico, and tourism in Florida.
The mainstream media portrayed that all of the Florida Beaches had been tarnished and damaged from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, which was actually far from the truth. The East coast of Florida was spared with minimal damage done to the beaches, water, and sand.
It was on this day, sitting in our South Florida office, that we decided to create a Facebook Fan Page titled, “Florida Beaches“, to let people know throughout the country as well as the world, that Florida’s beaches were open and that you could still visit and enjoy them!
Till this day, we still receive messages from all over the world from people who have travelled both far and near, to tell us thank you for posting images of the Florida Beaches!
